Made in Italy? The tremolo is the same style as was used on the tremolo version of the (Burns) Baldwin 706 guitar which was exhibited at the same trade fair and also used Italian parts.

The full picture shows a separate control box with similar selections to the guitar itself. I wonder if a 3-pole (Tip Ring Sleeve) jack lead was needed? The box seems to have the same pickup selector as the guitar, which would be difficult without three wires down the cable (or modern digital technology not available at that time).

With all that electronics and either a 9v battery or multiple 1.5v cells on board, the guitar would have been really heavy. Perhaps Bruce has been misquoted and what he's actually saying is "Hank will be puffed out with this"

Interesting to note that the lettering on the body is upside down.
And (|BTW) some "photoshopping" done near the top horn of the body.

Not by me.

As far as I am aware, the photograph is untouched and the extract from Beat Instrumental also (though it is a little distorted because photographed rather than flat-bed scanned).

I recreated the caption because of the optical distortions.

This was my first proper guitar. I bought it from a sixth former at school when I was about 15 (1969) for £14.
It had a Wah-wah function - I think the WHT button. One of the pots controlled the wah sweep.
Repeat was a bit like echo but more like a gate that cut the signal at varying rates - again controlled with one of the pots.
I wish I still had it but it had to go to fund the Gibson purchase when I was 16.
I've been looking to buy one for a couple of years without success. I reckon the must have only made a few.
