The UB Hank Disk........ Have you got one?

Postby sixtiesman » 28 Dec 2015, 04:28

I have a ( real ) UB Hank CD which I bought many years ago at the Birmingham Guitar Show. Track 20 is "The Stranger" ( one of my favourite tracks ).
Having got a Tascam portastudio DP24SD from Father Christmas I thought I'd have a go at playing this myself. On playback I noticed a short but annoying buzz at about 1.06
After playing my UB Hank cd it's on the backing track!!!!

If you have a real UB Hank would you mind checking yours?
Have you got it too?

regards

Yes, there is a faint buzz at that stage in the recording.

It's only on one of the stereo tracks (right on mine). If you have an audio editor it's pretty easy to copy the exact same section from the good track and paste it over the little "fart" on the other track. Assuming you can play audio files rather than using the CD direct.

Thanks everybody for your input.

To Roger, I'm glad I'm not dreaming. To Ecca I was going to go with your solution till I read George's.

Thanks George, I didn't notice it was only one side!....I have done this very process with clicks on vinyl....so I can fix it. Hurray!

Tony, it's definitely on the CD!!!! Stephen, you may have the only copy without the buzz.......

Mike I have listened again to the buzz taking into consideration the artisitic merit which you imply....and it's still a no!

Thanks guys

Maybe it's my "tired ears" which never fully recovered from playing close to my old much boosted Ampeg/Selmer rig back in 1967-9 for maximum feedback!!
