The Lonnie Donegan documentary didn't have Bruce on there mentioning about the time he waited outside the stage door for his autograph, Shadows fans already know this story. Probably because it wouldn't look right for Lonnie.

I asked Lonnie about this when he appeared at the Stables about a year before he died. He told me that it was not true.
I asked Lonnie to sign one of his photographs for Bruce, which he did.
Unfortunately I have not had an opportunity to give it to Bruce.
Maybe one day !!!!!!!

Billy Fury was one of the most under rated singers of the period, writing many of his own songs before others even thought of it! He apparently had more top 40 hits than the Beatles and so deserved the high profile given . Illness of course cut his career short. I hope next Fridays documentary does him justice. Sadly missed!

I was surprised to read that Billy Fury had had so many hits and I checked my Guinness Book of Hit Singles (quickly, so my counting may be out by one or two!)

Billy had 26 chart records. At the time his chart run stopped, the Beatles were behind, the Shadows were running apace and Cliff was well ahead.

In due course both Beatles and Shadows had about 30 while Cliff more than doubled that.
