Hi Derek,

Interesting idea for a thread. I suppose some would say you shouldn't have favourites, because you would probably put more into those tunes than others.

Having said that I do have favourites, and they are "Riders in the Sky", "Wahine", and "Memory".

Have a good Christmas

Regards

I'd have to go along with Derek with Wonderful Land and Atlantis. However, I also feel that some Garth Brooks tunes lend themselves to instrumentals.
The Dance, What She's Doing Now and, of course, If Tomorrow Never Comes all come out, in my opinion very well.
One good thing about playing such tunes is that one is not measured or compared to the original. There's no need to change pickups at 1.27 and back at 1.52 or have
the "correct" echo or echo machine or pluck the string with a red 1.30 plectrum precisely 1 3/4 inches from the third screw along. ( Perhaps thats why Hank started playing other folk's tunes ). :)

Anyway, as has been said before, play whatever you like, the main thing is that you enjoy it.

Merry Christmas,

Cheers, Alan.

I enjoy all the shadows stuff (that I can play), but my three faves arent their tunes; Saturday nite at the duckpond, Hava Nagila and the William Tell Overture. We are just working up the Can-Can, a la Jaywalkers ,which should be a good one!

I have so many that I like to play, but ones I usually go to at home are 'Another Night', 'Janine', 'Rodrigos Guitar Concerto', 'Rounding the Cape', 'Theme 4 YL', 'Bossa Roo', and the later Hank version of 'Sleepwalk'.
Have a great Christmas everyone!!

And he plays them very well, I can tell you! For me, I'm afraid, it really is the last one I learned!
