Marvin, Welch & Farrar at the BBC

I read recently that M,W&F did some BBC sessions between 1970-1973. A release was scheduled for some of these sessions to be appear on CD but mysteriously vanished from the schedules. Does anyone know why? Did one of the group object?
The same thing happened to a proposed CD of John Peel sessions from 1973-1975.

Probably because of the same reason as why The Shadows' BBC recordings still have not appeared (apart from five tracks on the "Let Me Tell You Baby...It's Called Rock 'N' Roll!" double CD, in addition also including four of those with introductions).

I once heard the BBC recording of "Brownie Kentucky", pretty good stuff!

MW&F did 3 BBC sessions. The tracks still reside in the BBC Archives.

18th January 1971: Faithful / You're Burning Bridges / Throw Down A Line / My Home Town

30th June 1971: Silvery Rain / Lady Of The Morning / Brownie Kentucky

March 16th 1972: Marmaduke / Strike A Light / Mr Sun / Lonesome Mole

I too have a copy of the BBC 'Brownie Kentucky' and it's really good. Maybe if the BBC released a compilation album as 'The Shadows featuring Marvin, Welch and Farrar' (as I believe they sometimes got billed) then it might sell? But I shan't hold my breath.

I can't understand it, the BBC has released lots and lots 'At the BBC' compilations by many artists, many of a lower calibre than the Shads and MW&F, perhaps it was a copyright issue with EMI or something.
