I hadn't seen this one before- I presume taken just before Tony replaced Terry..

This a Drifters line up the last one before Tony joined They changed their name to The Shadows in 1959 to avoid confusion with the American group with the same name even though Bobby Vee had a backing group called the Shadows. So really Terry Smart was never a Shadow.

This photo must have been taken in end 1958, Jet Harris had already replaced Ian Samwell, but Terry Smart was still here, soon to be replaced by Tony Meehan...
